If you fancy an easy winter break in the tranquillity of nature, head to the winter hiking village of Kartitsch – a real hideaway in the East Tyrolean mountain winter with wide, well-groomed paths, expansive views and an extra dose of peace and quiet.
On site, you start directly onto the marked winter trails – ideal for a leisurely walk with photo stops, snowballs with the kids or a short round before stopping off at the hut. If you like, plan a short panoramic loop, warm up with tea from your rucksack in between or treat yourself to a soup in the parlor later – view included.
Kartitsch is easily accessible from harry’s home Lienz: arrive, lace up your warm boots and set off. Perfect for anyone looking for an uncomplicated winter experience with great views – without the hustle and bustle of the slopes, but with real winter hiking magic.

After a day in the snow, warmth is just what you need. In our wellness area, you can relax your muscles, take a deep breath and wind down after a winter’s day. Short sauna sessions, a refreshing shower and a break in the relaxation zone – that’s all you need to regain your balance. Back in your room or studio, you can make yourself comfortable with a warm drink and relax.
Our tip: Two to three short sauna sessions with breaks in between – pleasant, suitable for everyday use and ideal for a good night’s sleep.
