Drau cycle path from Lienz

The Drau Cycle Path (R1, 510 km, Dobbiaco-Varaždin) is the first long-distance e-bike cycle path in Europe to be awarded five stars. The Innichen-Lienz stage (44 km) is almost entirely downhill and is also suitable for families. From Lienz, the route continues towards Carinthia to Oberdrauburg and Spittal – paved, signposted and separated from car traffic. Iseltal cycle path Lienz

The Iseltal cycle path runs for 29 km from Lienz to Matrei in East Tyrol – along the Isel, one of the last free-flowing glacial rivers in Europe. The route is mostly asphalted, with an average gradient of one percent, ideal for families. Along the way: Bruck Castle with the Egger-Lienz Gallery, the Kienburg ruins and the Hohe Tauern National Park House in Matrei. Return journey downhill or by post bus with bike transport.

Bikepark Lienz

The Bikepark Lienz offers 11.6 km on four trails – from the blue Flow Family Trail to the black “Welcome to the Jungle”. The Peter Sagan Trail (4.8 km) and the Alban Lakata Trail (2.2 km) provide variety with berms, jumps and Northshore elements. The Lienz cable car takes bikers to the Moosalm, bike rental and World Cup pump track are available at the valley station. The bike park is a Gravity Card partner.

The stage from Innichen/Toblach to Lienz (44 km) is almost entirely downhill and is ideal for beginners and families. The entire Drau cycle path is asphalted and separated from car traffic. Return journeys can be organized flexibly by train.

The cycling season in East Tyrol lasts from April to October. May, June and September offer the most pleasant temperatures and are less busy. At the height of summer, the Drau cycle path – especially the San Candido-Lienz section – is very busy. The Lienz Bike Park is open from June to the end of October.
